Blackhawk Bancorp employs 150 people at seven banking locations in south central Wisconsin and north central Illinois. The company was founded in 1881 and is the second largest bank in Beloit, Wisconsin and second in all of Boone County, Illinois. A new banking location is set to open in July of 2008 in Rockford, Illinois.
